Archivist Safety Matches: Mushroom

There’s a quiet richness to this square matchbox—less about novelty, more about detail. The wild mushroom illustration sits in a muted, almost archival palette, punctuated by small hits of red that pull the eye without overwhelming it. It feels studied but not precious, the kind of graphic that adds depth to a surface rather than dominating it.

Inside, 125 matchsticks keep things grounded in function. It’s an object that earns its place through use—lighting candles, resetting a room—while still carrying enough presence to sit comfortably on a coffee table or mantel. Equal parts utility and visual punctuation, it’s designed to be reached for, not tucked away.
